SWEAP Has You Covered: Instruments Meet CSWE EPAS 2022 Standards

As programs transition to CSWE EPAS 2022, there are a lot of questions about necessary changes for assessment plans and SWEAP has got your covered.

All SWEAP instruments have been updated to be EPAS 2022 responsive. However, many of our programs continue to use EPAS 2015 instruments even after the new instruments are available. Some programs do this by accident… No worries!

SWEAP has created a crossover document that helps programs translate the assessment report for the EPAS 2015 SWEAP Curriculum Instrument into data that can be used to report on EPAS 2022 competencies. You can find that document on our website, HERE

SWEAP does not recommend using the EPAS 2015 SWEAP Field Instrument to meet EPAS 2022 standards, but you don’t have to! The new EPAS 2022 responsive SWEAP Field Instrument is ready for you to use this Spring 2023. You can purchase it HERE!

A major change in the assessment requirements under CSWE EPAS 2022 is the focus of the implicit curriculum assessment on Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ADEI). SWEAP is proud to offer the new SWEAP ADEI Instrument to meet these requirements. Not interested in adopting a new instrument? No worries! You can simply report on student responses to the following item in the Exit Survey under “Commitment to Diversity”

  • The social work program was committed to diversity among its students.
  • The social work program modeled diversity among its faculty and staff.
  • Faculty and staff of the social work program modeled respect for difference.
  • The social work program provided an environment where students learned about differences.
  • The social work program provided a learning environment where students valued and respected diversity.

Alternatively, you can download your raw data, and analyze any part of student responses on the SWEAPExit Survey by student demographics, including race, gender identity, age, etc.

How do you access raw data for individual analyses?  When you have a SWEAP Exit Survey report already run, simply use the Download this Data in Excel format button or the SPSS format button at the top of the report page available on the user interface. You can then use this data in your own data analysis programs to run cross-tabs, etc., to determine if student characteristics relate to evaluation of various parts of their assessment of your program.
